How to use Mucolyt

How Mucolyt works
Mucolyt is a mucolytic medication. It thins and loosens mucus (phlegm) in the nose, windpipe and lungs making it easier to cough out.
Quick Tips
  • Mucolyt helps in thinning and removal of the mucus (slimy and sticky substance) from the airways, thereby treats various respiratory conditions.
  • Measure the syrup with a special dose-measuring spoon or cup, not a regular table spoon.
  • Inform your doctor if you have suffered or are currently suffering from any stomach, liver or kidney problem.
  • Do not use Mucolyt for more than 14 days, without your doctor’s advice.
  • Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant or are breastfeeding.

Tablet: Adults: 8-16 mg 3 times daily. Syrup: Adults: The recommended daily dose is 2 to 4 teaspoonful 3 times. Initially 4 teaspoonful 3 times daily and then as required.

Contraindication
Contraindicated to those who are hypersensitive to Bromhexine Hydrochloride.
Mode of Action
Bromhexine is a mucolytic.
Precaution
History of peptic ulceration; asthmatic patients. Severe hepatic or renal impairment.
Side Effect
GI side effects; headache, dizziness, sweating, skin rashes. Inhalation: Cough or bronchospasm.
