Introduction
Trimotil is used in the treatment of pain due to smooth muscle spasm. It stops sudden muscle contractions (spasms), thereby relieving cramps, pain, and discomfort. Trimotil is taken with or without in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Oral Irritable bowel syndrome Adult: 300-600 mg/day in 3 divided doses. Chronic gastritis Adult: 300 mg/day in 3 divided doses. Elderly: Use with caution.

Contraindication
Patients with known hypersensitivity to trimebutine maleate or any excipient.
Mode of Action
Trimebutine is a GI motility regulator with antispasmodic properties.
Precaution
Elderly; pregnancy, lactation.
Side Effect
Trimebutine Maleate is generally well tolerated. The infrequently reported adverse effects are as follows: a) Gastrointestinal: Dry mouth, foul taste, diarrhea, dyspepsia, epigastric pain, nausea, constipation, b) CNS: Drowsiness, fatigue, dizziness, hot/cold sensations, headache etc.
