How Fenazol Vet works

Fenazol Vet prevents worms from making energy, which eventually causes the parasite to starve to death. In certain worm species, the condition may also extend to immature life stages like larvae or eggs.

Brief Description

Indication

Livestock - Round worm, Lung worm & Tape worm in Sheep, Goat, Calf, Cattle & Buffalo. - Round worm in horse - Round worm & tape worm in dog, cat. Poultry Fenbendazole is used for the treatment of infestation caused by round worm such as Ascaridia galli, Heterakis gallinarum, Syngamus trachea etc.

Administration

Fenbendazole is available in various formulations, including oral suspensions, pastes, and powders, depending on the animal species and route of administration.

Dose

Route of administration: For oral administration only Bolus Sheep & goat: 1 bolus/ animal (5 mg/ kg body weight) as a single dose. Cattle & Horse: 7.5 mg/ kg body weight as a single dose. Dog & Cat: 100 mg/ Kg body weight as a single dose. Liquid Poultry: 0.1-0.5 ml /kg body weight (20-100 mg/kg) as a single dose or 1 ml/200 kg body weight (1 mg/kg) daily for 5 days. Mode of Action

The FDA has approved using fenbendazole in veterinary medicine to treat a broad range of worms in goats, swine, horses, and cattle. The FDA has approved its use for treating whipworms, tapeworms, roundworms, and hookworms. Fenbendazole prevents worms from making energy, which eventually causes the parasite to starve to death. In certain worm species, the condition may also extend to immature life stages like larvae or eggs.

Contraindication

Fenbendazole should be used with caution in animals that are hypersensitive to the medication.Fenbendazole should not be used within 14 days of liver fluke treatment and animal less than 3 month of age.

Precautions

Fenbendazole usually has no side effects when taken as prescribed. It is unlikely that an animal overdose on fenbendazole will result in toxicity. It is important to note that fenbendazole does not treat all types of parasites. Do not administer the medication to animals that are underweight or sick with infectious diseases

Side Effect

Some animals vomit or have nausea after deworming. When used as labeled, fenbendazole in dogs and cats is generally well tolerated, and side effects are uncommon. The following side effects may be seen: Vomiting, Excessive drooling,Diarrhea,Allergic reaction

Pregnancy & Lactation Category Note

Fenbendazole is safe to use before, during, and after pregnancy. However, when administering to lay, pregnant, or lactating animals, consideration should be given to risk and necessity.

Interaction

With medicine: Fenbendazole should not be given concurrently with the bromsalan flukicides; abortions in cattle and death in sheep have been reported after using these compounds together With feed & others: No interaction was found with feed.

Storage Conditions

Store below 30° C temperature and dry place, protected from light. Keep all medicines out of reach of children.
