How to use Joinix
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Joinix is to be taken with food.
What if you forget to take Joinix?
If you miss a dose of Joinix, skip it and continue with your normal schedule. Do not double the dose.
Quick Tips
Do not take glucosamine, if you are allergic to glucosamine or shell fish.
Avoid taking glucosamine, if you are pregnant or breast feeding.
Doctor's advice should be considered in case of patients with following history of disease conditions: diabetes; high cholesterol or triglycerides; cancer; liver disease; asthma or breathing disorder.
Do not continue the glucosamine, if you are having surgery.
Should be taken with food. Preferably taken at meals.
Adult Dose

Adult: 500 mg 3-4 times daily.
Max Dosage: 1500 mg/day.
Contraindication
Allergy to shellfish.
Mode of Action
Glucosamine stimulates the production of proteoglycans and increases sulfate uptake by articular cartilage.
Precaution
Diabetic patients, patients on heparin. Pregnancy and lactation.

Interaction
Glucosamine: May reduce effect of antidiabetic agents, doxorubicin, etoposide, tenoposide. May enhance anticoagulant activity of warfarin.
